1. Leadership skills, especially servant, situational and adaptive
2. Interpersonal & Team skills: You can’t get things done if you’re not a people person
3. Emotional intelligence: You can feel when stuff is happening below the surface and you get to the bottom of it
4. Proactive: Forget about project management if you’re can’t discipline yourself. You must lead by example. This quality makes you stand out from the crowd.
5. Knowledgeable: It takes know-how to manage and drive projects – industry best practices and certification are required.
6. Experience: Progressively shouldering larger responsibility
7. Drive: A “must succeed” attitude that reflects urgency
